Meet the Team

Dr Sheree McDonald – Vet

Sheree grew up on the family sheep/wheat farm in Newdegate and inherited a passion for animals from both her parents.

From treating sheep, riding horses and hand-raising kangaroos, animals ran in her blood from a young age.

After graduating from Murdoch University in 2011, she then went on to work in mixed animal practice in the country for 3 years. In 2015 she took a short locum position at Lathlain, before travelling through Europe. On her return she became a full-time Veterinarian and Manager at Lathlain, and has now been here for over 3.5 years. She has 2 dogs , Tilly and Roofus , a Horse named Bo and a rabbit called Pickle. In her time off she enjoys horse-riding, scuba diving, photography and travelling.

Dr Becky Townsend – Vet

Becky graduated from Murdoch University in 2014, and after working in Perth for 2 years decided to satisfy her passion for travel by locuming in the UK, before joining our Victoria Park and Lathlain Clinics as a locum in October 2017. She enjoyed working with Pets and Vets so much that she took on a permanent position at Lathlain Clinic permanently from July 2018. Becky has a long background in the veterinary industry as a Nurse and Medical Scientist in Clinical Diagnostic Pathology before she became a Veterinary Surgeon. As a Vet she holds special interests in soft tissue surgery, dermatology and anaesthesia. She shares her home with a very hairy loveable senior Golden Retriever named Logan, and outside of work hours enjoys spending time at the beach and river with him, as well as swing dancing, camping and travelling

Dr Suna Winterburn – Vet

Suna is a very experienced vet and has been with Pets and Vets in some form for over 20 years. Suna consults Tues, Weds, Thurs and every second Fri afternoon and some Saturdays. She has 3 sons and 2 rescue dogs and likes spending time at the beach, bushwalking and watching her boys play cricket. She enjoyed volunteering in Thailand to spey and neuter their street dogs. Her special interest is complex medical cases.

Dr Emma Lane – Vet

Emma is one of our permanent part time vets who works between the Lathlain and Vic Park Clinics. She graduated from Murdoch Uni in 1999 and her first job as a new graduate was at Lathlain Vet Clinic. Although Emma has left Perth a number of times, she always ends up back with us. In her time off from work she is busy wrangling her 3 boys. Being a vet, of course her household also contains fur babies; Gus the Maltese Shih Tsu pug cross, and her 2 rescue cats Cheezel and Loki.

Dr Tom Quilty – Vet

Dr Tom arrived in the Pilbara in April 2020 from his native New South Wales. He divides his time between Tom Price, Newman and Paraburdoo and provides veterinary care to a wide variety of animals from horses, cattle, dogs and cats all the way down to exotics and pocket pets.

When he is not looking after animals he loves to head to the coast to surf, fish and explore our state of Western Australia.

Tom is the proud dad of a golden retriever puppy Sunny who goes on all his adventures with him!

Ella – Vet Nurse

Ella has been with the Vic Park and Lathlain Vet Clinics for 10 years since 2008! She has always been a big animal lover and her home is filled with 3 cats, 4 rabbits, Captain the crazy Irish Setter and Dorris the python, along with her husband and young daughter! She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing especially exotic animals!

Kelly – Vet Nurse

Kelly has had a passion for animals from a young age and started her Cert IV in Veterinary nursing at the beginning of 2017 which led her to our Victoria Park Clinic where she completed work experience for the year. In February 2018 a vacancy came up at Lathlain Vet Clinic were Kelly now works fulltime. She has a dog called Banx a horse called Lewis and 2 cats Jet and Mishka.

Toni – Vet Nurse

Toni is a part time nurse who is at Lathlain Vet Clinic on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s. Toni has been a part of our veterinary family for many years and we have watched her become a mother of two gorgeous children.
Although her kids keep her busy, she of course has a beautiful fur family; Sky a 6 year old greyhound whose favourite pastime is sleeping on the couch, and Leah a 16 year old cat who is a high spirited ball of fluff!!

Sarah – Vet Nurse

Since a very young age, Sarah has had a passion for animals.

Growing up she has had many pets, all being different shapes and sizes and all very much loved!

She has loved the opportunity of living out her childhood dream of becoming a veterinary nurse working at Lockyer Avenue Vet Hospital for many years before joining Lathlain Vet Clinic in 2018.

If Sarah’s not at work, you can usually find he down at the beach as it is another one other favourite passions including walking, swimming, surfing, snorkeling and camping.
